Your Sessions

Your sessions are a private space to explore whatever issues and concerns you choose to bring to the session. The aim is to achieve a trusting therapeutic relationship where together we can understand what is going on for you and to help you move forward. We will regularly review your progress together and when appropriate , work towards an ending of the therapy.

Your sessions will typically last 50 minutes and will usually be at regular weekly or fortnightly intervals. However, we can be flexible to meet your own needs and discuss how you might want to take your therapy sessions forward. Sessions will start and finish at the agreed time and cannot be changed if you are late, as I may be seeing someone else following your agreed appointment time.

Initial Conversation

I offer a free 20 minute telephone call or zoom meeting to discuss what you hope to gain from counselling and to make sure I am well placed to support you. It is also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and for us to consider how we might work together.

My Locations

My counselling practice is primarily based in central Farnham where there are several public car parks, and Farnham train station is within easy walking distance. The towns of Farnborough, Fleet, Camberley, Wrecclesham and Aldershot are all nearby.

I provide a professional, confidential counselling service in Farnham. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics and practice for counsellors. As a matter of professional ethic I work with an external supervisor who is also governed by a professional code of ethics and standards, as such any information I share with my supervisor will also remain confidential.

Only in specific circumstances where I am ethically or legally required to disclose to external agencies will confidentiality be broken. Where such a situation arises, and whenever possible, I will discuss any likely course of action with you. If I have a concern about your safety, or that of others, I may also contact your GP or emergency contact.
